Geoff Miller OBE , 01 Apr 2026

Cheltenham Cricket Society brought its 2025/26 season to a memorable close with the return of Geoff Miller OBE, whose fourth appearance proved as engaging and entertaining as ever. Speaking to a packed Victory Club on a warm April evening, Geoff immediately set a relaxed tone, promising insight, humour, and reflection—and he delivered all three in abundance.

An outstanding evening, and a fitting finale to the season from one of cricket’s most genuine and captivating speakers.

Geoff also kindly donated a signed bat for which he conducted an auction in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. CCS member Gavin Davies successfully bid for the prized bat, signed by stars Joe Root, Ian Botham, Alistair Cook and James Anderson. All member donations and the generous winning bid by Gavin helped raise significant funds for the Prostate Cancer UK charity .

Cheltenham Cricket Society (CCS) was founded in 1983 to promote meetings with guest speakers and other activities of interest for like minded cricket lovers in the Cheltenham and surrounding areas.

Cheltenham Cricket Society is one of around 30 cricket societies affiliated to the Cricket Societies’ Association.

6 or 7 Guest speaker meetings are arranged for each season running from October through to April for the benefit of members. The meetings are held on the evening of the first Wednesday of the month starting at 7:30pm with doors opening at 7:00pm. The Victory Club in Cheltenham has been the host venue since 2001.

A “Summer Special” is often arranged. The most recent one was an evening with David Gower in August 2023.
